Dr. Michael A. Marmer, M.D.

Dr. Michael A. Marmer, M.D., is an experienced urologic surgeon who grew up in Illinois and received a full academic scholarship to attend the University of Chicago. Graduating with honors, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry before conducting research on flat numb and palladium base catalysts at AlliedSignal Engineered Materials Research Center. However, his passion for connecting with and helping people with medical issues led him to pursue a medical degree at the University of Illinois @ Rockford, where he was also a James scholar recipient.

During his medical studies, Dr. Marmer spent a semester at Kings College London participating in liver studies and anesthesia rotations. He completed two years of general surgery training at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Cook County Hospital Chicago, followed by four years of specialized urologic training at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Michael Hospital and Medical Center, where he gained expertise in minimally invasive procedures, female urology, and general urology.

After completing his residency, Dr. Marmer moved to Payson, Arizona, where he has been practicing since 2000. His areas of interest include minimally invasive procedures, prostate cancer, urinary incontinence, kidney stones, and general adult urology. He currently serves as the chief of surgery at Banner Payson Medical Center and is on staff at both Banner Payson Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital Medical Center Phoenix. Additionally, he is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology.
